in 2018, we're going to flip the house.
It all starts 12.14.2017 @ HUE Lounge & Nightclub
It's been a shitty year for politics. We've seen endless affronts to American values and an unprecedented degradation of political discourse. And we're done. It's that simple.
We're standing for progress: for climate action, for affordable college access, for healthcare, and for the equal treatment of all people.
Join us on December 14, 2017 for a one-of-a-kind fundraiser that supports a progressive Congressional candidate in a California district vital to taking the House back.
(of course we hope you will donate more given that 100% of the money raised will go to the campaign.) Oh, and the first 100 guests to arrive at Hue on the night of will receive a free drink ticket!
The man of the hour, Kia is running for California's 45th District. The son of Iranian immigrants, Kia decided to run the night that Trump announced the first Muslim ban back in January. The district voted for Clinton by 5.4%, but is now represented by a Republican who votes in support of Trump 100% of the time. Kia previously worked for Senator Tom Harkin and Senator Sherrod Brown, both of whom have endorsed his candidacy.
The alias of Kansas City native Chuck Allen, Cavelle started his music career by launching music, clothing, and lifestyle brand Way Less Effort as a student at Stanford University. Since then he's been making art and music in the East Bay, his most recent collaboration being a mellow hip-hop inspired track with Kyleo Blue.
Cavelle will be performing a set developed especially for Party for Progress!
Ayande (“future” in Farsi) is a group of four Iranian-American best friends whose mission is to increase awareness of Iranian art and culture through dance. For the last ten years, they have trained in, taught, and performed many forms of Iranian dance. Today, their focus is on advancing the art by adding their own modern and unique twist to it. Utilizing the power of social media, they are sharing their passion for Iranian dance and hope to inspire and connect future generations.
Please reach out to Yassamin Ansari at email@example.com to join as a co-host of the event. All funds raised will go directly to the campaign!
